Product Description WHEN A NEW BREED OF EVIL EMERGES, A NEW BREED OF SOLDIER MUST FIGHT IT.
While convoying new high-tech weaponry in Central Asia, Captain Duke Hauser and his right-hand man, Ripcord Weems, along with their NATO Special Forces Unit, are ambushed by heavily armed super-soldiers called Vipers. Just as it becomes clear that Duke’s squad is seriously outgunned, and after one of the Vipers attempts to make off with the cache of coveted arms, out of nowhere comes a secret band of soldiers to help the good guys: Team G.I. JOE. General Hawk, head of the elite military ops, enlists Duke and Ripcord to join JOE stalwarts Heavy Duty, Breaker, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes in retrieving the weapons and keeping a well-financed foe from controlling cutting-edge nano-mite technology that destroys everything in its path.
Racing around the globe, the G.I. JOE team takes on the baddest of the bad–Storm Shadow, Zartan, Destro, and the lovely but lethal Baroness. And in confronting genetically manipulated super-soldiers, Duke must also face his own inner demons when a sinister figure appears to raise the stakes and maneuver events toward an even greater catastrophe.

| Customer Reviews: Why read the book, when you can see the movie? August 9, 2009 Dmitri Ulinov (California, USA) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I just saw GI Joe: Rise of Cobra in the theater and it was AWESOME. There seriously was not a single minute where something wasn't exploding. Even when there was a romantic scene, all you had to do was start counting to 60 and by the time you finished something was going to be vaporized in a major way. There is no way the book could do that!
The only thing that could improve this film (and book) would be to include zombies and baby geniuses.
The killer clowns don't have a cream pie's chance of taking over the world with the Joes still around!!!
Worth waiting for. July 1, 2009 Richard Petsch (Conneaut, OH USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
G.I.Joe is a worthwhile story in that it gives us a real background to how Cobra came about. It has great characters and a fair amount of surprises in it. The action is well described and the sites we go to give the story its broad appeal to me. I recommend it very highly. Thank you Mr. Collins for giving us a book that takes us in depth to G.I.Joe vs Cobra.
