Product Description
Yeah Dave” Romanelli puts chocolate, wine, and excellent tunes right on the path to enlightenment. What's not to love? David “Yeah Dave” Romanelli is kinda hip, kinda goofy, and occasionally really outrageous, an unlikely guru who is reinventing the quest for enlightenment. For Yeah Dave, the path to ecstasy doesn't require any previous experience with yoga, meditation, or wellness. He shows us how to find transcendence through everyday pleasures, like admiring the sunset or rocking out to your favorite band. “There is a place where the chocolate tastes sweeter, the music sounds better, the inspiration feels richer, and the visions look clearer,” writes Dave. “That place is the Moment.”
Yeah Dave’s Guide to Livin’ the Moment offers an alternative to the crazy, over-stimulating, distracted world we live in today, a world in which we watch the news while eating, eye our email while conversing, and forget to notice the full moon while texting. On our mission for speed, movement, and stimulation, we risk missing our life. Yeah Dave’s book gives us our life back, one beautiful, delicious, and funny moment at a time.
Yeah Dave’s Guide will make you laugh out loud while taking you someplace totally unexpected. Through hilarious vignettes about his dorky moves on the dance floor, his Crackberry addiction, and his tryst with Hot Horny Married Woman, he shares fresh and unforgettable wisdom. Without dogma or anything too “out there,” Dave makes you want to slow down the blur of modern life and find the full flavor, power, and passion that can only be found in the Moment.

Never trust the start rating of a book by a blogger January 19, 2010 Jack (St Paul, MN United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the second book I've read by a blogger with high star ratings and I'm now convinced that readers are not rating the book, they are just putting 5 stars to denote themselves as fans and followers of the blogger. This book was OK but lacked any profound insight. The perspective was a bit different than others in the genre, but I wouldn't necessarily say thats a good thing - it just seemed like a more watered-down, less refined version of real wisdom. Sure, I laughed some, but a couple of jokes doesn't make a book fantastic. Mostly I'm just irritated that I spent time reading this "5 star" book when I could have been reading other truly deserving pieces.
Funny, inspiring, and a good kick in the pants on finding happiness January 19, 2010 J. Muench (NY United States) I attended one of Dave's yoga classes recently, a little different style than what I am used to... he told fascinating stories while weaving in a great play list which complemented the theme (and also *completely* distracted me from my legs turning to jello). He was genuine, funny, and had a great outlook on life, which he shared in the class and wanted us to have too. I was compelled to get his book right then and there. So glad I did because I LOVE it!!! It is a ton of life's lessons, great quotes, funny stories, and thought provoking insights all jam packed in one easy-to-digest book, AND all written by a guy who seems to have taken it ALL in, digested it, thoroughly taken it to heart, then managed to distill it all down for the rest of us in his book!
In a nutshell, what if finding your ecstasy was as easy as pausing for a moment to really, truly enjoy something? When we can appreciate something as simple as thoroughly enjoying a bite of chocolate, taking in a beautiful vista, sharing a glass of wine, or listening to a favorite song, we can then realize that maybe that is all we really need. Even if you have zero interest in yoga, you will find stories you can relate to and lessons you can take away. I am still amazed at the feel-good/warm fuzzy/good vibes I got by reading Livin' the Moment... Actually I am going to add reading Dave's book to my Beautiful-Funny-Delicious-Moment Journal.
Read the book and attend his yoga classes--you may get a whole new brighter outlook on life!
Hit your refresh button on your spiritual journey. November 11, 2009 Danielle M. Mcguire (Fort Wayne, IN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Reading David's book was such a refreshing change of pace, looking at my overly stocked yoga bookshelf. Sometimes we can take even our spiritual path a little to seriously. I found myself in many similar scenarios as David's in my life, as I'm sure many others will be able to relate too. I found myself thinking "I have to be the female version of this guy." I laughed my way through each chapter and found myself pausing at the end in reflection of the interesting point that every story makes..you don't realize there is a point being made in the storm of the hilarious situations, but at the end it all makes sense. I've recommend this book to many of my friend and students, and my family reflects on their funny, smart, and beautiful moments at the dinner table most evenings.
Yeah Dave's Guide to Livin' the Moment - Getting to Ecstasy through Wine Chocolate and your iPod Playlist November 11, 2009 C. Burr 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently attended the National Cervical Cancer Coalition conference in Chicago - and picked up a copy of Dave's book Livin' the Moment after his presentation - which was fantastic - he made me laugh - he made me think - and he made me appreciate the moment. His book is just as exciting as his presentation! I had originally seen him on Chicago's WGN news segment - which made me appreciate being in his presence all the more. A super speaker, a book worth reading, and he has a great choice of chocolate for the palette. Down to earth in a way that you can appreciate what he is explaining - and easy to understand - worth the read!
