Product Description Oregon is renowned not only for the natural beauty of its coastline but also for its enlightened tradition of publicly owned and protected beaches. Now revised and updated, the Access Guide offers a north-to-south tour of Oregons Pacific edge, with extensive mile-by-mile coverage of scenic U.S. Highway 101. The most comprehensive and useful guide to the Oregon coast, it provides a convenient and reliable reference on where to go, how to get there, and what to expect, including thorough descriptions of beaches, parks, forests, campgrounds, boat ramps, picnic areas, and hiking and equestrian trails, details on and directions to natural areas, from estuaries and lakes to dunes and headlands, up-to-date information on outdoor recreation, including angling, crabbing, clamming, boating, whale watching, golfing, photography, surfing, and cycling, features on a range of topics, including history, weather, tides, marine and coastal wildlife, cultural attractions, and historic coastal bridges, listings of resources to help travelers plan and enjoy their trips. A travel planning guide for Oegon Coast March 29, 2007 Randall Stewart (Vancouver WA USA) 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
This book is very detailed on information needed to plan a vacation trip along the Oregon Coast. It's laid out by milemarker along Hwy 101, has lots of travel tips, places to stay, activities, and things to look into, such as parks, museums, etc. It has adequate lodging and dining information, although this informaiton may degrade quickly over time. Amazon promoted the book to me as a photo guide for planning a trip to photograph scenics. I would rate it a "1" on that point, as what passes for scenic photo suggestions are few in number and trivil in content.
