My son liked this at first, but quickly tired of it. Unfortunately, it wasn't really durable enough for us to pass on to other kids. I don't recommend it.

I bought this toy for my 4 year old for Christmas. He LOVES Spider-Man and for the price I thought it was a great deal, but we'll get to that later. He loved "training" along side his favorite hero and facing Venom at the end of the DVD that goes with it. The punching bag is hard to blow up with out the proper pump needed, but if you have one, it goes up in no time (just don't forget to empty out the water used to weigh it down each time!). I was a little concerned that the dvd instructions may be too violent or encourage play fighting, but Spider-Man says numerous times that this is pretend training and even when the face the villians that you should only block and use fighting back as a last resort. It's not real self-defense and doesn't teach your little guy to beat up on theuir friends (or perhaps my little one is just very attentive and very well behaved, but you can always pick up where the dvd leaves off and give your own rules, too). The whole things is basically a little exercise video that happens to throw in some karate-esque moves, but it's cute to watch.

My 4 year old LOVES this toy. He calls it his workout and does it about twice a day...:)
However, yesterday, he was punching the Venom side of it, and he hit it a little too hard. It shot back up and the plastic speaker/switch part of it hit him in the face and gave him a bloody nose. Ouch! They should cover that with something softer.

I bought this for my cousin's 7 year old for Christmas and he can't get enough of it. I guess he's watched the video 100 times since getting it. His parents are sick of watching the video but he absolutely loves it. I couldn't have picked a better gift for a Spiderman lover.
