This is a fantastic little light. The body feels really good and the build quality is great. The light output is very good for a light this small and the throw is adequate for this size. There's a gap between the bottom tailcap and the body which doesn't seem so serve any purpose so I'm not quite sure why they designed it that way, aside from that i have no complaints.

Other reviews have preferred a FENIX flashlight due to more lumens but I chose the SUREFIRE. Here are my reasons: 1) it's MADE IN THE USA not China under the BUY AMERICAN ACT, 2) FENIX has a poor website so I didn't have a lot of confidence in the product, 3) SUREFIRE's unconditional warranty. Spend the money on a SUREFIRE and save an American worker's job.

I have one of these and it is amazing - incredibly bright and it can truely blind an advesary. It will 'flood' a room fully with light and also 'spots' at a long distance better than my 6 D-cell mag light - may maglight rest in peace! This is the Nitrolon (plastic) version of the 'all-metal' 6P LED version - has same metal lamp assembly as all-metal more expensive version. As of today this appears to be a - discontinued model with an 80 lumen P60L led lamp assembly. The current model G2 LED per SureFire's web site now has an XR4 led lamp assembly with a 120 lumnen output (50% more light but much shorter run time 2 hrs vs 12 hrs). It might be worth getting this model with P60L lamp if the output is adequate and you want the extended runtime - while they are still availble. Note the P60L lamp assembly is no longer available as a part from Surefire; XR4 is listed as the replacemant part.

The light was great, worked out of the package, nice and bright. i love it. 12 hour run time is so much nicer then the 120 lumen/2 hours.

While the G2 LED is a sturdy, reliable light source there is a major failing (at least with the claimed specifications) that need to be noted before one decides to purchase this light. The implication of the description(on Amazon at least) implies that this light will run at 80 lumen's for 12 hours. This clam is FALSE! At best, you will get around 3 hours, before it drops down to around ~30 and below, as the batteries are depleted. Even Surefire's site ([...]) now states this (even though it previously had the false 12 hour claim).
If you are looking for a light that has a sustained level of "tactical" lighting for 10+ hours, go elsewhere. If you need a small durable light with a minimal amount of tactile lighting time (< 3 hours), then the G2 LED is your light...
