 Pre charged? Uh, no. March 20, 2010

I received these batteries today and immediately opened the package. They claim to be for high drain use, so I put them into my pet's laser toy. It barely lit up! I popped them into their charger and 6 hours later put them back into the toy. They worked this time, but it's certainly not as bright as with regular batteries. Within 5 minutes it's already dimmed by 50%. We'll see how long they last, but at least they're rechargable - going through 4 AAs a week was expensive!

There are loads of differing opinions and experiences to read from, so declaring these to be the best / worst batteries ever is probably not helpful to you.
What hopefully is helpful, is being able to confirm that as of mid-March 2010, Amazon is selling the rebadged white-top Eneloop batteries that are made in Japan.

Sorry to say they were non functionable in my computer mouse... nor would
they recharge in the mousecharger. I woluldn't spend the cost of
postage to return...Disappointed.....H.A.S

I now have sixteen of these batteries and they all work flawlessly. I use them to power my TV remote, 2 xbox360 controllers, a digital camera and keep some spares charged and ready to swap out. I love these batteries and I've turned some friends to getting them too. They love em too. I've read some reviews that they do not charge all the way. I too had this problem but it was due to a faulty charger. I didn't want to give up on these batteries when the charger finally broke so I bought a new charger(duracell) and they get fully charged all the time and last a very long time. I've been using them with the new charger for over a year now and I haven't had any problems. Get these batteries and you'll never go back to regular(nonchargeable)batteries again.

I bought a 4 pack Duracell Precharged 2000mAh about a year ago(does not say Precharged on the battery wrapping), and just bought another 4 pack a few days ago(does say Precharged on the battery wrapping), the recent pack is under performing marginally.
I tested the following brands of precharged batteries with an external camera flash, by taking 10 continuous shots, 3 trial each to get an average, to see how many times the flash will not fire.
* Duracell Precharged 2000 mAh (this pack is the old one that does NOT say Precharged)= missed 1 firing (always the last shot)
* Sanyo Eneloop 2000 mAh = missed 2 firing
* Rayovac Hybrid 2100 mAh = missed 6 firing
* Duracell (this is the new pack that does say Precharged) = missed 6 firing

I called Duracell on 3/12/2010, wanting to speak to someone about it to understand why the difference. They said that they'll have their quality control department call me back within 24 hours. Today as of 3/17/2010, 3 business days later, have not heard a word from them.
Gonna have to try something else next, maybe Energizer.
