Ever play "Hot Potato" with a spud that ticks and talks? Welcome to Electronic Catch Phrase, the battery-powered (three AAA, not included) blend of clue deduction and race against the clock. Two teams of two or more players each alternate turns, guessing the answers to clues in 11 categories, from Food & Drink to Tech & Inventions. Set the timer on the discus-like game unit, and the clue-giving countdown begins; if a team's guess matches the response on the game's readout, pass the unit to the opponents. Just don't get caught holding this potato when the buzzer sounds (after about a minute of increasingly insistent beating), as the other team will score a point, possession being nine- tenths of the "Awww!" Our college age daughter asked for this game as a gift after playing at school with her friends. It is really fun, fast paced and entertaining. Our only complaint is we played it so much that we very quickly ran out of new clues, and started repeating ones we'd already guessed. It's still fun though because different players may get the clue to act or guess so it may not be obvious. Overall, a lot of fun.

This is a fun game. Good with a group that doesn't know each other well. There isn't much to it and it's easy to carry around as it's all inclusive. If you play it a lot, you may start to notice repeats, but overall it's a good purchase.

This is one of the most delightful games I've played as an adult. It's like the old TV game "You Don't Say" in that you get to describe a person, place or thing and try to get your partner to say the exact word or phrase. It's all timed, and you don't want to get caught with the device when the final buzzer goes off. You learn quickly about others players in the game - their competitive nature REALLY shines through (or not)!

Great fun for the first hour of play, second game was almost all repeated words, by the third game we knew every word/phrase. Not worth the money.
