Good to teach David & Goliath February 1, 2010

I bought this for a Vacation Bible School demonstration - I wanted a Nerf type slingshot that kids could really hammer for an afternoon - trying to see how hard it is to use a sling shot. To demonstrate the Bible story of David and Goliath.

I strung up paper plates on cotton string between trees and the kids took turns using the sling shot trying to hit the paper plates. It came with 4 balls. The kids were so eager to shoot! After they all had about 4 turns or so, they wanted snack & free play. There were a few kids who continued trying to hone their skills with this toy for an hour; and asked for it on other visits also.

The red & yellow balls got a bit dirty but that's sort of the point on playing with a toy outside anyway, isn't it?

One of the kids had to show me how to use it - following the directions is a good idea. I was feeling a bit hammered by kids - they REALLY wanted to try it - so I didn't feel I had time to read the instructions.

Kids ages 3 1/2-4th grade were using it. They all really loved the toy. It got a heavy usage that day & a few other days; and it's still completely fine. Held up to all of it! The kids were fairly patient & decent about waiting turns too.

My son wanted a slingshot but is only 4. I ordered this and it is great, easy to use and safe. (Although it shoots pretty darn good so be careful indoors and watch the head shots). He learned how to load it, aim it and shoot it in about 2 minutes.

This is a very durable, easy-to-use slingshot. The foam balls go really far, but it doesn't have the best accuracy. One advantage is that younger kids can easily use it.
