Yippe September 15, 2009 Le Luu 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Been using the Chocolate flavor for a few days.
Tastes great even mixed just with water, like ovaltine maybe.
Mixes easy, even with spoon, easy shaking no clumps.
Also good with blender, add in banana, etc.
As in working out, I did notice better energy and stronger pumps.
Overall, good.
Great taste? who cares August 24, 2009 Harkanwar Anand (New York, New York) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Let me start off by saying I will not speak one word about taste for I find it particularly annoying how all of these reviews speak of it. I will talk about it how I've used this product, the effect, or the lack of effect (if any)it , effects on sleep, and diet and muscle differences.
Before you begin to decide whether or not you would like to use Syntha 6, try and ask yourself a few questions. What exactly do you want to seek to accomplish at the gym? Do you want ato be a fit lean body with lean muscle and without bulging biceps? Or do you want to be a perfect display of youth,'s vigour, boxer's brawn and swagger? Or do you really don't want anything except to workout atleast four times a week.
A lot of people comment that Syntha 6 is expensive. I think they don't know what they're talking about or not making enough money. I don't know what they're talking about. I went to a local G_N_C outlet and got 2 packs at a special deal for forty five including both. My first pack, though, I ordered from Amazon. I was using Whey Protein (100% O.N) earlier. Did I have a reason to change and try something else? Maybe not but I just wanted to see what this product was about because I feellt I couldan do with a little more cut and muscle definition. The first flavor I tried was chocolate.
I mixed one scoop with water using a fork. I don't have ahave neither the mixerie nor the patience or willingness to use milk. It was Ggreat experience. I went to work out the first day and didn't notice any difference except this burst in my cardio workout. For the first 30 minutes, I just cross trained at a very high speed. I am the sort of gym guy who does an hour of cardio before he jumps inmoving to the weights training section. Atleast half an hour of cardio i deem as important.
You may wonder what my purpose of goign to the gym is?My objective for the gym is rather simple:
My purpose is I want to have a great lean upper body that looks fine in tshirts. My second purpose is to compete with others around me and have a better well structure "more wirey" physique. I have a slightly stock look and am not tall. I'm 5'9 on a good day and I seldom lie about my height. I like to do cardio because it keeps my weight in check and tshirts look better when I haveafter sweating it out. I also am a little conscious about my male [...] muscles which is why exercises such as "those for the Back" and "shoulders" i pay more dividend attention to.
Syntha 6 gave me -
a) Burst on first try
b) No change in heartbeat or mood
c) this feeling of being "more full" appetite wise
d) I could really live on two scoops for breakfast
Now, lets compare this with the safer more popular Optimum Whey, O.N gave me -
a) a smaller burst while gyming
b) a slightly hollow "throw up" feeling cause i didnt use milk
c) it lacks the fuller feeling, because ON lacks any sugar or artificial taste enhancing preservatives
d) I only did one scoop/two scoop, that too, after the workout for muscles to relax.
So, as you can tell, so far, after my first workouts, there isn't much in it. I enjoyed both Syntha 6 and ON and on that first round of first workouts, ON winds hands down.
First round of First work outs sounds absurd.
A week passes. Syntha 6 starts to kick in. I'm having two scoops everyday. One before working out. One after working out. I usually work out around 11AM to 2PM time slot. I start doing thirty minutes cardio and 45 mins weight but Syntha 6 makes you try harder. There were days I didn't feel like going to gym because I have a very laborious six day job. So on those days when I didn't feel like going to the gym, I would go for say half hour and do a full body part with absolutely no cardio. These workouts are better than staying at home but I don't recommend "off day workouts" because they make my body awkward. Like say, great shoulders and mass but not enough lean resistance for shape and definition. In terms of energy levels, there is a little lift in one's mood and step when you workout for half an hour but it's good incentive all the same.
Week after opinion on Syntha 6 -
a) Im doing 30 pound dumbell instead of 20 pounds
b) Im doing 15-20 reps with a minimum of three sets as opposed to 3 sets with cheating reps.
c) Shoulder exercise becomes new favourite.
d) I double my bench press weight for one exercise but because of a pain in the neck and no support (I work out alone and always have) increasing bench press is a bad idea.
e) I can feel more pump in back and shoulder exercise specifically.
f) If I do sufficient cardio after having syntha 6, I can use a bit of the syntha 6 energy to do more training on triceps.
g) No difference in bicep exercises (Note to one's self, "Don't blame syntha 6" , blame your lazyself)
So Syntha 6 starts winning over O.N because I never died to have ON and never took the extra effort.
Never died to have ON is just WRONG.
Like I told you guys, I wanted to become leaner and did a lot of cardio, I lost about 8 pounds in the month I did syntha 6. My diet is horrendous but towards the last few days I learn to eat a dozen eggs every four days which stops my body weight fall.
So 45-50 days have now passed and the Syntha 6 box is over. I go to G_N_C and get two more boxes, this time Vanilla. A friend warns of illeffects of Syntha 6 but I don't read about it on Amazon so I say Eff it. And I move on...
Final/Conclusive opinion on Syntha 6 (and how it is better than 100% whey)
1. Syntha 6 packs more of a punch, the effect lasts longer and has a speedier recovery over O.N which now seems like a safe choice.
2. Syntha 6 has changed my shape, my body is more tshirt hugging, man in the mirror and some people at work are surprised with the 1.5 inch increase in biceps
3. Energy is at an all time high.
Negatives -
Syntha 6 is good but it's not perfect. You have to not overuse it. There is no way you can overuse it and feel good about it. Just don't over do it. The initial burst stops effecting eventually. If you have two scoops in a row, you may feel sleepy too. That's right, it does fill you up like that. If someone knows why, then please let me know. Start with ON.
Question : Will I continue buying Syntha 6 or change?
Answer : I will continue buying Syntha 6 for long enough and then try other products by BSN like Noxplode and that pill that helps you get cuts by playing with water content in body.
Question : Does Syntha 6 effect your mood?
Answer : Yes, if you have Syntha 6 and dont ever workout half as hard, you will hate yourself.
Question : What if I don't do cardio and just weight train, is this for me?
Answer : Ask people around you. Have it with milk. Its heaven.
Question : I know you hate talking about taste but Vanilla or Chocolate?
Answer : V
Goodbye, goodnight and goodluck.
fairly good July 28, 2009 K. Chung (Brooklyn, NY) did not disappoint me. I already have mocachinno.. now that taste fantastic.. Vanilla ice cream is good.. what more can you say? i'm going to try other flavors soon.
The Best. July 21, 2009 Jacob Fletcher (Keego Harbor, MI United States) Syntha-6 is simply the best protein I've ever used. I've been lifting for about a year and a half, and I've tried a dozen or so different proteins. This stuff easily tastes the best, and like many others have said, is the only protein I've actually noticed larger gains from. This is due to the blend of quickly-absorbing whey protein and slow-absorbing casein protein. When it comes to price, you probably couldn't make a blend yourself, using no-name brands for the price of Syntha-6 - casein protein is pricey. In my opinion, it's worth it though.
It is a bit fatty, and has some carbs, so I'd recommend using it while bulking. If you're getting fat on this stuff, it's probably because you're not doing cardio.
Tastes Great...But so does fast food June 23, 2009 Jackson (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Would like to give this product a higher review but simply cannot based on the merits of the product. This stuff does taste good when mixed with skim milk, but that's because it has at least 3 to 4 times the amount of fat and saturated fat as other protein supplements. Not to mention an absurd increase in calories and carbs. Yes this stuff tastes as good if not better than most other protein supplements, but if you're looking for taste go get a shake from McDonald's-- it contains some protein and tastes great- but if you are looking for a serious product I would recommend ON's (Optimum Nutrition) mix or Designer Whey.
