instantly broke February 18, 2010 Aaron A. Kiley (Michigan USA) I tried this, it charged about 5 minutes, I smelled something burning. It stopped working
Very fickle working with an iPhone 3GS December 30, 2009 Joseph W. Maluso (Fairfax, VA) I bought this for a overseas mission trip and it was very fickle charging my iPhone 3GS. Sometimes it would work right away...other times I would have to plug and unplug it 20-30 times before it would recognize and start charging. Then if it was slightly bumped on accident and the dock connector disconnected I would have to go through the whole routine again. It worked very well on iPod Video, Nanos, and iPhone 3G devices that other members of my team owned but just not on my 3GS. If it worked more easily for my device I would give it 5 stars for sure.
Works fine with listed products December 13, 2009 J. Wang (Seattle, WA) After keeping this thing in my drawer for over a month, I finally took it out with me on a trip. This battery charger works great, and will also get through security without a hitch (which with larger battery packs sometimes has caused me problems in the past). The design is small, and durable with the design, allowing the charger's points to be recessed inside of the charger.
I have heard people complaining that their ipod has been damaged by this unit. Read carefully to see what ipod model is supported. On the bottom is a little dial allowing you to select which ipod you are going to charge. While the only visible change is that the plug moves to accommodate the thickness of the ipod model, I don't think you should try to 'estimate' and hope for the best. If you're going to plug in a 300 dollar ipod touch into something that's this cheap, I think you should make sure that it's supported. Otherwise spring for something else, yes?
Anyways, energizer's support is great, and if you do happen to screw up, I've read that people have been reimbursed for their loss, which while they do lose their original ipod, at least the company is honorable to pay for the damages. Many companies do not do this.
The price for this is highly inexpensive, the batteries that the unit comes with last a long time, and you're pretty sure to forget to charge your ipod at one point, so why not leave this in your backpack? It has come in handy for me numerous times, either for myself or for a friend. Works great also for car rides and stuff if you don't have a car adapter.

I love this little thing. Bought one at Walgreen's but dropped it and the case cracked. They stopped stocking it so very happy to find online. This works just fine with iTouch gen 1 and 2.
POS - Barely worked once October 1, 2009 M. Huerta (Chicago, IL) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
First time I tried this with a brand new pair of batteries my iphone 3gs had 10% of battery life remaining. This charger got it up to 35% and that was it. I have recharged the batteries and when I insert the iphone nothing happens. What a POS. I am glad I only paid $6 for this. At least I have a pair of AA rechargeable batteries I can use with my mouse.
