 Allergic to Peanuts? This is the trick. February 22, 2010

My daughter and my nephew are both terribly allergic to peanuts, but they can eat almonds. Kids have loved PB&J sandwiches as long as I can remember - heck, I still love them! This is a great alternative for those who cannot eat peanut butter. It's not as sweet as the conventional peanut butters, which is probably a good thing considering all the corn syrup in them, but it tastes great!
We keep a couple of jars in the house, and I just sent a few to my nephew, who loves it too. You do have to stir it a bit, but that's an okay trade off in my opinion.

I have loved PBJ's all my life. Until my son was discovered to have a peanut allergy, bye bye PBJ! Hello Barney Butter!
We have tried all the replacements out there. This is the BEST for texture and flavor substitute. My two kids ate over half a jar the day this arrived! That was at 3pm and it was gone before bed time! That is just with spoons dipped right in.
I am unable to tell the difference when having a BBJ. My husband is thrilled, since we both loved PB but have not had it in over 3 years.
I am back today to order more since it is on sale now to stock my pantry! Thanks be to Barney for making this in a almond only facility. That is awesome!

We have a 6 year old that is severely allergic to peanuts, so we have tried sunbutter, soy butter and they all tasted horrible. I found Barney Butter a few years ago and contacted the company to find out if it was a peanut free facility. Jennifer Barney promptly wrote me back and said that she was working on it. I am very happy they are now peanut free and we were able to try almond butter for the first time with our son and he loved it! We will be buying more. Thank you!

I have been buying natural nut butters for YEARS, and I have never, EVER seen on that has so much oil in it. Even when fully mixed, this was too runny to really use on bread, which in itself is ok since I don't EAT bread, but not at all what I expect from anything other than Tahini!
Is this NORMAL for this stuff, or did I get a bad batch. Just asking because I won't buy again if this is normal.....
