Amazon.com Product Description The most popular mountain biking system on the market just got better. The redesigned M.U.L.E. hydration/cargo pack offers the ultimate blend of features, with a well-organized overflow cargo system, a weather-resistant MP3 pocket, and a 3-liter liquid capacity that keeps you hydrated for more than three hours on the trail. The pack is notably comfortable thanks to the removable waist belt and dynamic suspension harness, which maximize load stability. The Air Director back panel, meanwhile, delivers enhanced ventilation on hot days--a must for hard-core bikers who want to maintain their high energy level. Add in such bonuses as a secure 540-cubic-inch cargo pocket with an internal organizer, a durable splash guard that protects the pack from mud and abrasion, and reflective details that help you stay visible in low-light conditions and you have a great pack for virtually any mountain biking scenario (and a few non-biking situations as well). The pack by which all others are judged, the M.U.L.E. is backed by a two-year warranty (with a lifetime warranty on the Omega reservoir). About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits. In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak's state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

good stuff July 19, 2008 Diego Calderon Franco (www.colombiabirding.com) (Medellin, Colombia) Even this was not for me; I could seen it in use.. a cousing got it and he is more than happy with it.. Diego
Female hiker/mtn. biker loves it! July 16, 2008 MarMar (Colorado) I have had my Camelbak mule for about 8 years now. Yes, it's an older model but with the same features and smililar appearance. It has lasted a long time and I have used it for mtn. biking and hiking. It holds what I need.. snacks, camera, phone, small jacket, sun block, hats, etc. I am in my early 30's and find that with small kids I now need a slightly larger one to hold lunches and other provisions while hiking with them. This mule is labeled for a man but this is what I have found. I can adjust the chest strap up above the chest and tighten or loosen as I see fit to fit a woman's chest, the waist belt has velcro attachment so I can remove it completely and it still stays snug and tight with the other straps. I am 5'6" and I have not noticed it being too long for me. The 100 ounces is never too much and doesn't weigh too much. I often finish my water on hikes and bike rides. If you aren't going far and don't drink much water you can just fill it half way. I always find that it's better to have too much than not enough! And with 3 and 4 year old boys I have purchased the mini-mule Camelbak for each of them and they love it! What awesome products. We did a family hike that took 5 1/2 hours and we all had our camelbaks on. I think it truly helped us make it together.
Great Pack, no complaints July 12, 2008 David Anderson (Montgomery, IL United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been using this pack at least once every weekend since I bought it (have used it at least 25 times).
It is compact enough to not get in the way when I'm scrambling through brush.
It has enough internal storage to keep 8 protein bars, sun glasses, camera, phone, keys, compass, knife, bandages, sun hat, wallet, guide book, and a full 100oz water bladder. And I wouldn't say it is "full", if I had more I wanted I could take it along.
It has straps on the outside, which I use to hold my large shell (in Seattle, you cannot predict the rain or the temperature).
It is strong enough that I've dropped it plenty of times onto rocks, pulled it through bushes / trees, and don't see any signs of wear & tear yet.
Great pack, exactly what I was looking for, I've taken 8 hour hikes with it without a problem, and without wishing for anything more.
Camelbak July 12, 2008 E. Staples It is very good and high quality. I am very impressed with the bladder and it's quality.
This is a great CamelBak for mounain biking July 10, 2008 I. Peshkatari (Fairfax, VA) I use this camelbak for biking and it does its job great. It holds a lot of water and has plenty of storage capacity for other stuff. The back ventilation allows you to stay cool on hot days. Even full of water it is easy to carry and does not bother you much. I would recommend getting an insulator for the tube. It gets hot very quickly and your first sips are not going to be pleasant.
