 Most powerful battery-operated Interplak to date. October 23, 2008

I've been an Interplak user for many years, and truly believe that no other electric toothbrush can come close. When I get my teeth cleaned, my dental hygienist can tell if I haven't been using my Interplak. No other brand can get in between teeth or polish tooth as well. Yes, it's true that Interplak has had a reputation of hit-and-miss as far as when a unit will need to be replaced. My last unit was an Interplak NT7CS Triple Action Power Plaque Remover and lasted me three years. I opted for the DPI9R after reading reviews that the battery could go for days and hold a charge -- my previous Interplak toothbrushes would maintain a weak charge at best if not constantly kept in the charging cradle. This unit comes with a high and low setting, but the low setting doesn't seem to offer much value. HOWEVER, the high setting is very powerful compared to all other Interplak units. And the battery does indeed hold a charge for a few days without being plugged in (at least on my recently purchased unit). The travel kit and no need for a charging stand are just bonuses to me. I purchased this unit in hopes that it would be more powerful than others, and it is. I highly recommend it.

This is the third Interplak product I've owned. I've always been very pleased by how well the extra-soft bristles cleaned beneath the gum line. This design is also great for people who travel. It easily fits in your bag without a bulky extension cord. However, the battery quality is terrible. My first Interplak lasted several years. The second one lasted almost two years. This one barely made it six months before the battery stopped holding a charge. If you want your teeth really clean, this brush is for you. Just expect to replace it often.

I really liked my old Interplak toothbrush but this new one is not anywhere as good. Since the bottom is plugged directly into the electricity to recharge it, that means it has to be put together and taken apart with each use. Big heap of trouble. The brush size is smaller than the old one which I don't like, and it doesn't clean as well either. It's hard to find a non-sonic power toothbrush nowadays, I wish someone would come out with a good one, this one is not worth the money in my opinion.

Don't waste your money on this tooth brush. It was recomended by my dentist so I got it. I used it for 5 days 10 times and decided it was not worth using and it is now in the dumpster.

No Cleaning Power April 18, 2008

This product sounded great, with the direct plug-in, but it didn't have any cleaning power. I had previously used an Oral B, and have now gone back to it. The interplak would stop moving with the slightest pressure on your teeth.
In addition, I was very annoyed with Amazon because when I purchased the toothbrush it recommended purchase of replacement heads, which I purchased, but which did not go with the toothbrush I ordered. So be careful. This has now happened to me with another purchase for bike accessories, too. What a hassle to get an item, have it not work, and then have to return it. Oy!
