Product Description Nothing changes the way you see the world like High Definition, and no company does High Definition like Opteka. In the professional setting, Opteka's glass optics define High Definition. Change the way you view the world. Enjoy outstanding detail, enjoy enhanced clarity, enjoy Opteka. Since it fits right over your camera's existing lens system, a wide-angle converter affects the full zoom range of your camera's lens. A wide-angle converter increases your angle of view - scenes include more of the landscape, groups include more people, and interiors show more of the room. A .45x wide-angle converter DOUBLES your angle of view, allowing you to get twice as much in the picture (AND your telephoto setting also becomes wider; not zooming in as close).

Very satisfied October 4, 2008 Blessed beyond belief (Columbus, IN USA) I just don't know a lot about my great Fugi Finepix S5200 camera but I don't need to -- it does it all for me. And, now, with the macro and wide angle lens, it does even more. I don't have a single complaint. It's easy to use. The site I bought it on was easy to use and I received it way before I expected to. Mark me down as a happy customer.
save your money July 14, 2008 colleen (Florida) Although I will preface by saying I am by no means a professional, this lens did produce "streched" landscape pictures of my trip to Alaska; however, the problem is the edges of the pictures are blurry. The results were a haze or softening around the edges of the photo which looks like you are using a cheap lens. I purchased the telephoto as well, and saw a very, very small difference in the distance I could zoom. All in all - this is another one of those instances where you get what you pay for.
Works Well with Limits February 19, 2008 Tom- (Central Oregon) I'm glad I bought this. It does what I want and produces clear pictures but there are a couple of things to keep in mind-
a) I question the claim of doubling the field of view. My impression is that it adds about 50%.
b) This is a two-piece lens with the smaller element to be used for close-up photos (according to the included instructions). However, when I put the assembly on my Fuji S5100 adapter it fits so well that it sticks tightly, even when I'm careful to barely seat it. When I take it off the two piece Opteka comes apart and I have to use a canning jar pad (literally) to grip and remove the second part. My solution, since I don't use the close-up element anyway, was to Loc-Tite the two Opteka pieces together, giving me a large gripping surface and making it easier to separate Opteka from Fuji.
Even with all that I'd buy it again and think it's a good accessory for the money.
You Cannot Beat This! September 22, 2007 S. Clark (Western North Carolina) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The HD2 Wide Angle Lens by Opteka is by far the best quality wide angle lens on the market for the FUJIFILM FinePix S5200. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
good but flawed design May 9, 2007 Rufus I screwed this onto my camera as soon as it delivered. Everything was nice and good but when I tried to unscrew it, the macro lens stayed on the camera! It is only about 30 mm thick and very smooth so I couldn't get a proper hold of it to unscrew.
one advice: NEVER EVER screw the lens on tightly because the macro will NOT come off.
I had to eventually superglue the macro to the wide angle lens and then unscrew both of them off (since the wide angle has a grip ring).
This takes nice pictures when not zoomed in. The product would've been much better if it didnt come with the stupid macro attachment.
