I used GU Gel for my last marathon. Eat one about every 4 miles and I strongly believe that it helped keep me on pace and enabled me to recover much more quickly than in previous marathons that I have run.

This stuff works great. The flavor is OK. Someone said to mix it with water and drink as you run or bike, but it just prolongs having that taste in your mouth. I just swallow it in two gulps. It goes down easy and I can tell it gives my muscles added strength and energy for competing in olympic triathlons. I chose this flavor because it doesn't have caffeine.

I've used this brand and this flavor for several half marathon training cycles. I use it 1/2 way through my long run each week and find it gives me the kick I need to get back and sometimes even finish stronger than when I left!
