Only one of the "sensors" was drier than the others but was still effective. The other two work wonderfully. They kept my plants going for a week and a half, and my plants like a lot of water each day. With the use of a large water reservoir (not above the dirt level and not too far below), they had plenty of water. This was exactly what I was looking for. Nice! To make it work, you have to fill water not only the ceramic cone but also the attached hose. The instruction does not say anything about it. Test it before your trip at least for several days to allow you try & error. Great! It performs superbly, even better than when I watered the plant. I am using it on my 7 ft ficus in a 14 inch pot. I am using only two of the three cones as three provided too much water. I was using two 1-gallon jugs at first and then switched over to a 10 gallon fish tank filled with 5 gallons of water. I'm quite certain this setup will keep the plant (tree) sufficiently watered. Off to Florida now. Perfect item for someone not good about watering plants June 25, 2008 Chad C. Easy to follow instructions. They have been working great for me. Now I don't have to worry that I'm not watering my plants enough. I have these in a couple of my plants and now all I have to do is keep an eye on the water containers next to the plants and when they're low I just top them off.
