Simple and easy, but not perfect. October 4, 2008

I live north of the border in Canada, so there might be a small difference. I had this for a year now and works great. Easy to use and quick (1 button in front which lights up and turns off when finished). The thermal mug is the only true problem it really does not keep your java warm for to long. So invest in a good thermal cup. It comes with a nylon/plastic filter and a little scoop that measures 1 scoop = 1 cup (2 scoops for the mug).
P.S. If you use this machine often (like me 4 times a day) then I recommend you clean this unit once a month to keep it in optimal performance.

The coffee maker overall is pretty good. For some reason I have to push the button a few times and hold it down to make it turn on. AND, just an idea, but you might want to get a new mug. The one it comes with is not very insulated so it doesn't stay hot as long as I would like it too. But all the travel mugs I have fit, so it shouldn't be a problem getting a new one.

I also use the the reviews for the products on Amazon and rarely offer my own review but this maker is so bad I finally had to write my first review. This thing makes the worst cup of coffe I have ever tasted, there is a "plastic taste" to the several brands of coffee I have tried and it also makes a mess after the thing is done, it continues to spit and sputter once you have given enought time to complete it's job. It is my intention to add this one to the junk pile and purchase a normal quality coffee maker.

I'm a college student, so I was interested in something cheap and compact, but still functional.
This coffee maker is a BREEZE to clean, just rinse out the permanent filter-no other mess involved) even for someone as lazy as me, and works impressively fast. I am still in awe of the fact that seconds after I turn it on, it is pouring HOT HOT coffee into my cup. It is also a simple enough design that I can trust my roommates to use it without worrying they'll break it...(and also cheap enough that it wouldn't matter terribly if they did)
The only other mug I have used with it is as tall as the one included and I would caution against using a cup/mug that isn't tall, as I suspect there would be some splatter.
Another feature I love is that it is incredibly easy to use it as a water-heater; even if you need more than 15 oz., it works fast enough that you can just use it multiple times.
All in all, I am completely satisfied and have no complaints whatsoever. (I have had it for about a month, during which I've used it about 4 times a week)

What a horrible cup of coffee! I tried everything:
1) multiple brands/strengths of coffee
2) multiple volumes of coffee ground in the filter
3) different levels of water
etc... Hell, I finally even tried brewing it twice to see what would happen.
No good. I've probably brewed 30 or 40 cups of coffee in this thing and they all suck!
