Good looking but has flaws November 15, 2008 Yang Wang (Atlanta, GA) The cup looks good, but I agree with W. O'Conner's assessment of it as a "hand warmer". It does not insulate that well. As soon you pour in had water you can feel the whole thing get really warm outside. This is an indication that the insulation isn't that great. Another problem is that if you are not careful when you close the lid, you may actually leave a gap that will leak.
Servicable, no particular flaws, reasonable price July 19, 2008 Paul D. English I like it - it works well enough for what I want - a mug that I can use at work for coffee/tea that won't get hot to the touch, or for cold water that won't sweat and it not made out of plastic (at all - the plastic you see in the picture is the lid).
The only criticisms I have are very minor: * The handle doesn't seem to match up with the body perfectly - I suspect it is glued on, so it looks a little sloppy, but only if you look very closely. * It is not dishwasher safe. Why not? Probably the handle and the rubber grippy surface on the bottom because the rest is sealed stainless. At any rate this seems like a fairly pointless drawback. Given that I mostly use it for water/tea, I can get away with a quick rinse and it isn't too much of a drag. I plan on running it through the dishwasher anyway when it needs it.
I have not experienced any of the problems that others have mentioned - dings and the rubber grippy bottom falling off. Probably because I work in an office and it receives very little abuse.
Worthless hunk of metallic trash!!!! June 11, 2008 M. Paff (Atlanta, GA) Within a month of purchasing this product the handle became loose; loose enough that I feared it would come apart completely in my hand. Also, the slide-proof material on the bottom of this mug traps water (even if handwashing, which is recommended by the manufacturer). I had to remove it in order to clean and disinfect the underside. Finally, as if these problems were not enough for me to rue the day I made this purchase, unless you fit the top of the mug on just right (and one morning it took me at least 5 minutes) there will be a slight gap between the mug and the top which will result in a lovely pattern of coffee stains on your shirt. My advice: do not purchase this product!!!!!!
Great mug May 14, 2008 J. Carter (USA) I've had this mug for a year or two and use it every day. I haven't had any problems at all. I usually use it without the lid because I prefer not to drink out of plastic (the lid is plastic while the rest of the mug is stainless - aside from a rubber/plastic bottom and handle, but the part of the mug that my coffee and mouth touch is stainless).
LEAKS LIKE A SPRINKLER May 1, 2008 Stryder (Northwest) This mug looks good. Keeps coffee Hot. Thats about it. The description says "includes a lid to prevent spills" but it doesnt say "spillproof" because it's not. For as much fluid that leaks through the lid when its turned slightly over, it might as well not have a lid. Seriously folks, dont even think about relying on this thing to prevent spills, because it wont.
I just got mine today and I couldnt wait to try it out. I love coffee and I have a thing for coffee cups. I couldnt help myself I just had to test out the capabilities of the lid. I filled the mug with fresh hot coffee and put the lid on, screwed it down nice and tight. Then I held the mug over the sink and slowly turned it on its side just slightly. as soon as the coffee inside reached the underside of the lid, it started spewing out all over the place.
Very lame. Total fail. I swear I could have emptied that mug in about 5 seconds, even with the lid on tight and the drink hole closed! I'm thinking this might get shipped back! For the price, I really expected alot more than this sorry performance.
P.S. I also got the desktop version and its performance was even worse!
