 Northern Tool Doesn't carry this item anymore March 14, 2010

I am not writing this review on this product, but on Northern Tool and Equipment. I have tried to order from them and have recieved an email saying that they do not carry this product. So if you are going to order this product, use the other companies listed. They are also cheaper as well.

I got these for my Dad and myself when I was working with him at a custom machine shop. The place is always loud with high speed cutters, pounding from heavy trip hammers etc... These cut down the noise enough to hear the music comfortably. Came with three sets of earpieces so you can always use a clean pair.
They do take a bit of getting used to but for anyone who uses earplugs the learning curve will not be very steep at all.
Most of the time I use them at the highest "volume" on the in line volume control. I find that it does not help much but is an interesting feature. So far they've held up well, thought I've not used them a whole lot.
Everybody complains that the bass is "muddy" and "weak" but the pair I got sound fine. I did adjust the equalizer settings on my Sansa Clip that I use these with and that makes things sound just fine as far as I'm concerned. NO they are NOT audiophile quality, but they definitely make music enjoyment possible where otherwise it would be impossible, That and they provide good hearing protection!
Definitely recommended for anyone working in loud environments.

These are a good way to keep your safety officer off your back but you have to compromise on sound quality. They sound a little better than listening to songs over a phone but not by much. For talk radio they are perfect, though. And really if you work at a factory like I do you are just happy to be able to listen to anything besides the machines around you so in that sense they are definately worth the $15.00. But these are definately not to be used outside of work, i.e. for true music enjoyment. All in all they will keep me going until Sony or Bose comes out with a like product with true stereo sound and boy I can't wait but until then, CRANK IT UP!!!

Works great. It is nice to be able to listen to music while working in a shop. They pretty much overpower any unwanted or loud noises.

Second pair I've bought. Best earphones for the money I've ever owned. Highly recommend them - specially good when commuting - really block out chatter and cell phone users! I also have high end Sony earphones (the big over ear cover type) which I really love, but for portability, size, function and specially price - these are the winners over all the Sony, Maxell, SkullCandy, Apple, etc... They come with three sets of buds which are washable and baffled for great fit, a volumn modulator on the connecting wire. Just an all around winner.
